Molly was raised and born in Pennsylvania. She began her professional career when she was thirteen, at Philadelphia's Prince Music Theater. She was then nominated as an Barrymore Award nominee for her role of Little Red Ridinghood at the Arden Theater's production Into the Woods. In 2002, she played the same role as Into the Woods in Broadway when she was fifteen and was awarded an Drama League Award nomination. Molly has also been seen on Broadway in the stage revival of Fiddler on the Roof. She then attended Princeton University and was a part of Princeton's Triangle Club.
